Welcome to the RRPictureArchives.NET contributor site of Bob Krug.
I live in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania so most of the photos here are of Northeastern US scenes. I'm particularly interested in steam-powered tourist railroads and mainline excursions, so there are many photos of operating steam locomotives; You can find over 90 different steam locomotives in operation throughout these albums. I also have a fondness for first-generation diesel locomotives, particularly Alco Road Switchers which you'll also find well represented here.
My late father, Maynard W. Krug was a career railroader - PRR/Penn Central/Conrail. I've got some real gems of photos posted here that Dad took back when he was a track supervisor for the PRR in the 50's and 60's. My son Ted is also a prominent poster on this site. For the three of us there is a strong intergenerational bond that encompasses our mutual love of railroads and railfanning.
It's a bit of a revelation to me that train photos that I took 20-30-40 years ago are now regarded as nostalgic. It makes me regret that I didn't take more photos back then, but the corollary is that NOW is the very best time to be taking railroading-themed photography; It's immediately interesting and will find an appreciative audience here on RRPictureArchives. And with the passage of time your photographs will someday hearken back to a long-ago era that's gone, but fondly remembered....
