Album Info:On a recent family trip to tour New Zealand, we spent several hours at Shantytown Heritage Park near Greymouth, on the west coast of the South Island. The Heritage park is the re-creation of an old time gold rush village, and includes a section of track from a former Bush Railway. Park visitors can ride on the train / sometimes pulled by steam. The day we were there, the train ride was powered by a diesel shunting engine. The area around Greymouth had coal deposits, plus significant lumbering, and a bit of a gold rush as well. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the railroading artifacts they had on hand.
