Slide Fence at Soapstone
Title:  Slide Fence at Soapstone
Description:  Pan Am has several slide fences installed near the bottom of historic rock slides in the Deerfield gorge. Here you can see one on the right, just above the spine flat car. If disturbed, the slide fence trips the signals on either side of this section to red / stop to hopefully prevent a wreck due to boulders on the track.

Title:  MEC 379 crosses the plate girder bridge over the Walloomsac River
Description:  Between Hoosick Junction and North Bennington VTR crosses the Walloomsac River three times. This is the middle bridge; not nearly as photogenic as the two high trestles that bracket it.
