A rare Saturday freight train on the Cement Secondary |
Description: |
I was working in the back yard when I heard a train whistle for a grade crossing in what I reckoned from the direction of the sound to be Nazareth, 5 miles to the southeast of my home. Several minutes later when he blew for a second grade crossing I figured that it was probably a westbound movement. I hopped in the car with my camera and intercepted the train at the West Main Street grade crossing in Bath for an unexpected Saturday bonus. |

Rounding the sharp curve west of the Rt 512 grade crossing |
Description: |
Two locomotives and two boxcars heading back to Allentown Yard in a rare Saturday move on the Cement Secondary. I surmise that the normal out-and-back Cement Secondary Friday turn timed out, and so a crew was called to finish the turn on Saturday. |
