Once we rejoined the BNSF Transcon the SW Chief passed 6 westbound freights as well as 6 opposing eastbound freights. The BNSF dispatcher truly was giving Amtrak priority over a very busy two track main line. It was like we were an ambulance, and all the other freight trains were pulling off to the side to let us pass. |
