Relocating a signal bridge on the PRR Middle Divison - Port Interlocking Editors Pick! Contributor's Pick!
According to Dad, they were installing higher speed turnouts on the interlocking tracks, which had the effect of extending the overall length of the controlled interlocking plant, so the signal bridge at the west end of Port Interlocking had to be moved farther out. This photo shows the signal bridge that governed eastbound movements (tracks 1 and 2), so it had to be moved further to the west of it's previous position. For a different view of this same signal bridge, see the photo in this album titled "Approaching frieght on the PRR Middle Division - Port Interlocking".
